Marigold (Tagetes)
Marigold Genus Details
Modern garden marigolds have been developed from four species native to Mexico. These annual flowering plants possess finely divided leaves and have heights that vary from under 1' to over 3'. Depending on latitude, flowering occurs during July to November and continues until a killing frost. Full-double flowers prevent pollen from easy wind dispersal. The flower colors are usually orange, yellow, or gold.
