Wingnut is a deciduous tree related to the walnut family. They are grown for their attractive leaves and flowers. The fruits are an oblong, winged, one-seeded nutlet. The wingnut tree is native to China and is grown in the milder areas of the U.S. Wingnut trees can grow to 90' tall. This tree can be found growing in California in poor soils as an erosion control.
