Pistachio Genus Details

Pistachio is a group of deciduous and evergreen trees grown in southwestern U.S. and originally native to Mexico, the Mediterranean and the Canary Islands. Fruits are 1" long, egg shaped, red and wrinkled. The pit contains the seed which is commercially sold. Leaves are in 1-5 pairs. The tree is grows rapidly and reaches heights up to 40'.
