Soapberry Genus Details

Soapberry is native to the U.S. from Missouri to Mexico. It has leaves with 8-18 leaflets that reach 1-3" long with small yellow flowers in clusters called panicles. The panicles are 6-10" long during June. The fruits are globular, 1/2" across, yellow at first and finally turning black. Soapberry can grow to 40' tall.
